Perioperative Medicine

…is a continually evolving field with the  goal of  optimizing medical conditions impacting surgical outcomes.  Preparing patients for surgery and providing medical care to  support patient desired outcomes is the goal of each preoperative encounter.  In order to ensure delivery of evidence based perioperative care, the perioperativist must be familiar with preoperative optimization,  risk mitigation,  and enhanced recovery strategies as well as shared decision making, and psychological preparation.

Mission and Vision

The perioperative clinician, perioperativist, must remain up to date incorporating preoperative, intraoperative, and postoperative care strategies to enhance the patient experience . Our goal is to help practicing clinicians remain informed as to the latest guidelines targeting patient desired outcomes.

Purpose

This site is designed to educate and support clinicians in the care of patients throughout their surgical journey. By sharing evidence based, best practice guidelines, we aim to facilitate effective and efficient clinical practice.

Goal

To provide educational resources for clinicians, hospitalists, anesthesiologists, and surgeons practicing perioperative medicine and provide resources for all those engaged in perioperative care.

This site is designed to serve as a resource to facilitate the advancement of perioperative clinicians.
